Universal Studios Hollywood is located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. It is in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles and east of downtown Los Angeles. The studio lot lies between Hollywood and Universal City, which makes it easy to get to via public transportation or car.

Universal Studios was originally built as a movie studio for movies like “The Wizard Of Oz” and other classic movies by famous directors such as Steven Spielberg (Jaws) who have worked there since 1972 when they opened their doors for business with no less than six productions being filmed at once!

Directions to Universal Studios From Pasadena and Points East

If you’re coming from points east, take CA-134 West to CA-170 North/Hollywood Freeway (Exit 2B), which merges with US-101 North/Hollywood Freeway. Take Lankershim Blvd./Universal Center Drive Exit, and follow signs to CityWalk and Universal Studios Hollywood.

If you’re coming from Pasadena, take CA-134 East towards San Bernardino/Griffith Park. Take Ramon Road exit off of 134 and continue on Ramon Rd. until it becomes Burbank Boulevard. Turn left onto Hollywood Way and make a right at Amoeba Music before reaching Universal CityWalk (next stop).

  • From the airport: Take 405 North and exit at the 105th Street off-ramp. Follow signs to Hollywood Boulevard, then turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard. You’ll see Universal CityWalk across from you—park there if possible (you can park on the street in front of it). If not, head back out onto Santa Monica Boulevard and follow it until you see a sign directing drivers toward Universal Studios Hollywood’s main entrance on Lankershim Blvd., which is located right next door to CityWalk.   • From points west or east: Take 101 South until its terminus with Interstate 10 (I-10). Take I-10 northbound until its terminus with I-405 North in North San Diego County; then take Exit #6A toward US 101/I-5/HWY 15 – San Onofre Road West/Orangewood Avenue East/Santee Mission Road East/Santee Mission Boulevard East
